Ivan Aivazovsky 是一位俄罗斯浪漫主义画家，生于1817年7月29日死于1900年。他是公认的历史上最伟大的海景画家之一。在他就读于圣彼得堡的皇家艺术学院期间他曾游历欧洲并在意大利短期居住。随后他回到俄罗斯，并被任命为海军随军画师。因为他和俄罗斯精英阶层的关系很好可以经常观看军事演习并进行艺术采风。而且他的艺术天赋也被国家看重并给予资助本人也很受尊重。
